Fort Nelson River Bridge #2607, Fort Nelson, BC, Canada
Engineer of Record | 2013-2015 | $33M | BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
Set in northern BC, the project involved replacement of the old superstructure and retrofit of the existing piers for a two lane, 430m long eight span bridge. The new superstructure is a 3-plate girder system with a composite concrete deck. To keep traffic flowing during construction, the existing superstructure was laterally slid onto temporary extensions to existing piers for use as a detour bridge while the new girders were launched. Raj served as the Engineer of Record for the superstructure design during employment with McElhanney. The project won the 2019 ACEC BC Award of Merit.
