Miles, Managing Principal of Spannovation Alberta, brings over two decades of experience with a focus on bridge erection design, temporary works, crane and lift planning, and structural reviews. As a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), he leads with a hands-on, field-oriented mindset, ensuring that practical, field-tested solutions remain at the heart of the company’s work.

His career path has been shaped by a blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership. Beginning in the oil and gas sector and corporate strategy, Miles transitioned into infrastructure engineering as Project Manager at N-Force Crane & Equipment, where he specialized in bridge erection design. His close collaboration with ironworkers and site crews gave him unique insight into the importance of aligning engineering with real-world constructability. Building on this experience, Miles co-founded Spannovation Alberta in 2025 to provide engineering solutions that are not only code-compliant and peer-reviewed, but also directly responsive to jobsite realities.

At Spannovation, Miles oversees the company’s bridge erection engineering, crane and critical lift planning, temporary works and staging design, and structural review services. His leadership emphasizes responsiveness, safety, and clarity, enabling Spannovation to deliver reliable support to contractors, fabricators, and field teams.
